" I have always shopped at Artist Emporium but for the first time I enrolled in a 1-day Still Life Oil Painting class with VERN SCHWARZ. I cannot recommend this class enough for anyone who is simply interested in painting, is already a painter or someone who wishes to learn how to paint with oils as a medium. Vern is a skilled and extremely talented artist who is eager to teach others his craft. Vern is very interactive and spends time with each student throughout the class offering advice and suggestions. As someone who has only worked with acrylics and was intimidated by oils, I walked away from the course with the confidence to move forward. I learned far more in a few hours with Vern than I expected and we all enjoyed some laughs as well. The class atmosphere was friendly and welcoming to everyone regardless of skill level or experience. I look forward to attending more of his workshops in the future. "

" I am taking a water color painting class with Tom Chan. The course is being held right in the facility. The staff are excellent and you can buy anything for art in the retail store. I love it, everything under one roof. Best place in Winnipeg to buy art supplies. The new entrance is going great, will be nice to have a proper disability ramp. I love the new location. "
" I have deeply appreciated all the workshops I have attended at Artist's Emporium. Lately I have participated in several landscape painting workshops with local artist, Vern Schwarz. Students can choose to paint with oil or water based oils. Vern is an excellent teacher who describes and demonstrates the importance of colour and values, establishing lights and darks while paying close attention to shape and composition. After an initial demonstration, the class begins their own painting as Vern comes alongside with helpful suggestions and genuine encouragement. I highly recommend Vern's classes. "
" Took a Pet Portrait class from Vern Schwarz. There were 5 of us women in the class and I feel everyone took home a unique masterpiece. When I showed my sister my painting she remarked “This guy really knows his stuff”. I feel my painting is the best one I have ever done. Vern also demonstrated a new way to sketch and his examples of his drawings were amazing. Loved the class! "
